TRUCKEE, Calif. (KGO) --Snow melting in the Sierra has prompted a warning from park rangers in the area.
Park rangers in Yosemite are warning that the Merced River is running high and fast, and have closed some tents near the water's edge.

This year's massive snow pack is to blame. It's as big as the past four years combined.
The melting snow will have a widespread impact. The rushing water will make white water rafting more dangerous on the Truckee River. Lake Tahoe's beaches will be a little bit smaller as well.
