Off-duty Uber driver forced to drive to Richmond at gunpoint

Police are searching for two suspects and an Uber car after the driver was allegedly abducted at gunpoint in San Francisco and forced to drive to Richmond on Saturday night. (KGO-TV)

Police are searching for two suspects and an Uber car after the driver was allegedly abducted at gunpoint in San Francisco and forced to drive to Richmond on Saturday night.



The driver told ABC7 News he was off-duty in the city when a man and a woman jumped into his car and demanded that he drive them around.

He said the man had a gun and the woman had a knife.

The off-duty Uber driver said he drove to Richmond and at some point was forced to stop at an ATM to take some money out. At that point, he escaped and went straight to Richmond police.


Police are are searching for the suspects and driver's car, a 2015 white Toyota Camry with the license plate 7HQW692.
