SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Two people had to be rescued from a second story balcony Thursday when a fire broke out in San Francisco's Mission District.

The fire began around 3:30 a.m. near Mission and Cesar Chavez streets. Firefighters say they heard screams for help when they got there and had to use a ladder to rescue two people. No one was hurt, but the fire did displace 10 people.
