SFPD investigating officer-involved shooting in Bayview District
San Francisco police are investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred after a home invasion in the Bayview District, according to police.

SAN FRANCISCO -- Police are investigating a home invasion that occurred Sunday night in San Francisco's Bayview District that led to an officer-involved shooting.

According to San Francisco police, at 11 p.m., officers responded to a report of a home invasion in the 2100 block of Quesada Avenue. Officers arrived at the scene and established a perimeter. As they prepared to search the residence, several suspects exited the rear of the building.

According to police, at least one suspect fired at officers, and one officer returned fire. The suspects then fled over fences and through adjacent backyards. Officers pursued the suspects on foot. One suspect was detained by police, but the others continued to flee.

Police searched the area for the remaining suspects and issued a shelter-in-place alert for neighboring residents. The suspects were not located and the shelter-in-place alert was lifted at 4:45 a.m.

There were no injures during this incident, police said.

The residents of the home where the invasion occurred are being interviewed and the case remains under investigation.
