CHP officer rescues dog from highway in Vallejo
A California Highway Patrol sergeant helped capture a dog Sunday morning.

VALLEJO, Calif. (KGO) -- A California Highway Patrol sergeant helped capture a dog Sunday morning. It was one of two dogs running into traffic near the ramp from I-80 to I-780 in Vallejo.

There was a man running after the dogs, but he got in a car and drove away while the sergeant was busy rescuing one of the pups. The other dog couldn't be found.

The rescued dog is at Solano County Animal Control waiting for someone to come forward.
