Long-time residents of Mahoney Street say someone has been leaving American Flags on their lawns for several decades. It happens early in the morning while most are asleep.

"It's nice because it reminds us, it reminds me what the Fourth of July is for," said Fremont resident Rebecca Bathia.

There was a clue this year about who may be leaving the flags. This year, they came with an ad from a local real estate agent.

ABC7 News was unable to confirm whether the realtor left the flags or is just financing the patriotic gesture.
