PLEASANTON, Calif. (KGO) -- Crowds came out in force to celebrate Independence Day in Pleasanton. In fact, so many people crowded parks in Alameda County, cars had to be turned away from Del Valle Regional Park, Shadow Cliffs Recreation Area, and Don Castro Recreation Area.

The Alameda County Fair closed its gates at 6 p.m. to control the size of the crowd.
