Police are investigating after anti-abortion messages were written outside the homes of two San Francisco planning commissioners' homes Tuesday afternoon.

Protesters angry over the approval of a new Planned Parenthood in San Francisco.

The messages were controversial, but the technique wasn't harmful.

The protesters wrote on the sidewalk in chalk anti-abortion messages outside the homes of two commissioners named Dennis Richards and another who wanted to remain anonymous. Some of the messages that were seen on the sidewalk read: "Save the babies, baby killer and Richards kills."

Richards told the San Francisco Examiner he is worried this could escalate.

Neighbors told the Examiner they saw about 40 young kids and three adults swarming the neighborhood and writing the messages Tuesday afternoon.

They have surveillance video of it happening. The question is if this incident will rise to the level of vandalism since they wrote it in chalk.

The commission voted unanimously to allow a new Planned Parenthood flagship location in San Francisco, but ironically Richards was on vacation and did not cast a vote.
