A bicyclist was hit and killed by a VTA train in San Jose Saturday afternoon.

SAN JOSE, Calif. (KGO) -- A bicyclist was hit and killed by a VTA train in San Jose Saturday afternoon.

The crash was first reported around 4:45 p.m. at Race Street and Parkmoor Avenue.

VTA service was shut down in the area while the crash was being investigated. A bus bridge was established between the San Fernando and Fruitdale Stations.
