Floating fire station planned in San Francisco
Images reveal what San Francisco's first ever floating fire station will look like when it is expected to be completed in 2021.

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Images show what San Francisco's first ever floating fire station will look like.

The 16,000-square-foot, two-story extension will sit behind Firehouse 35 along the Embarcadero.

City planners said the new addition will be climate change proof and will also be seismically-safe.

Construction is expected to begin in 2019 on Treasure Island and the $40 million firehouse should be completed in 2021.
