NOVATO, Calif. -- Police say three people wearing surgical masks allegedly stole jewelry from a Costco in Novato Sunday morning.

At 10:11 a.m., officers were dispatched to the Costco Wholesalestore at 300 Vintage Way where three suspects had used a hammer to break glass display cases and steal jewelry.

It appears they stole $50,000 worth of jewelry.

The suspects ran from the store to a vehicle that was gone before police got there.

Police said no one was injured and the suspects did not display any weapons.

Officers did not find the suspect's get-away vehicle, which was described as a dark-colored, 4-door sedan with paper dealer plates.

About a month ago, four people stole jewelry in a similar fashion from a Costco in Foster City.

Police are asking for the public's help in finding the vehicle and suspects in the Novato burglary.

Anyone with any information is asked to call Novato police at (415) 897-4361.
