Highway 4 closed near Discovery Bay after car chase suspect jumped in water

DISCOVERY BAY, Calif. -- A car chase in Sacramento led CHP officers to Highway 4, just east of Discovery Bay prompting the closure of Highway 4 Wednesday afternoon.

Officials say the chase came to an end near the Old River Bridge after the suspect's car became immobilized.

Officers say he got out of the vehicle and jumped into the water. Now, their efforts are focused on getting the suspect out of the water and into custody.
