FORESTVILLE, Calif. (KGO) -- Fire crews are putting out flames in Sonoma County near the Russian River after a propane tank may have exploded at a Forestville home.

The fire was reported around 3:20 p.m. in the area of Laurel Avenue and Summerhome Park Road, near the Russian River, a volunteer with the Forestville Fire Protection District said.

One house was destroyed and five others were damaged. The fire spread to brush and burned at least one acre and several cars in the process.

One person was burned, but it was unclear the extent of their injuries. No firefighters or emergency workers were injured.

Emergency crews asked neighbors not to drive out of the area because they needed to keep the narrow, one-lane roads clear for the fire trucks and ambulance.
