57-acre fire in Vacaville fully contained, evacuations lifted
A four-alarm fire that threatened homes in the Grandview Drive area of Vacaville Friday afternoon,is now 100 percent contained according to the Vacaville Police Department.

VACAVILLE, Calif. (KGO) -- The 57-acre Oak Fire in southwest Vacaville was 100 percent contained around 2:45 p.m. Friday, Cal Fire spokeswoman Suzie Blankenship said.

No structures were damaged or destroyed and evacuations have been lifted, the Vacaville Fire Department said.

The four-alarm grass and oak woodland fire was reported around 1 p.m. in the area of Oak Canyon Lane and Cherry Glen Road, Cal Fire said.

The Three Oaks Community Center in Vacaville opened for evacuees and reported only two people in mid-afternoon.

Mandatory evacuations were ordered for Acorn Court, Fair Oaks Drive, Grandview Drive and parts of Hillview Drive.

The fire's forward progress was stopped at 2 p.m. Firefighters will remain in the area through the evening and mop up hot spots, Cal Fire said.

Cal Fire said 61 personnel responded to the fire. The cause is under investigation and there were no injuries.
