All NB I-280 lanes near Redwood City reopen after suspicious bag on fire prompts closure

SAN MATEO COUNTY, Calif. -- Officials say all northbound lanes on I-280 near Redwood City in unincorporated San Mateo County have reopened after a suspicious bag caught on fire Thursday evening.

The fire was first reported around 6:43 p.m. on northbound I-280 near Edgewood Road.

A Sig-alert was issued at 7:04 p.m. for all northbound lanes of the roadway.
