Anti-Sharia law, Unity rallies planned in Santa Clara Saturday
Dueling rallies will be held in Santa Clara Saturday, one is an Anti-Sharia law March, the other is dubbed a Unity rally.

SAN JOSE, Calif. (KGO) -- Two groups of protesters will express their very different views in Santa Clara. A group called "ACT for America" will sponsor an Anti-Sharia law rally at Winchester and Stevens Creek Boulevard.

Sharia is the law of Islam. ACT for America claims Sharia is incompatible with U.S. law and American values.

Local interfaith groups will put on a counter-protest nearby.

"We want the voice of inclusion of diversity... of celebrating this very strong and vibrant community," said Diana Gibson, from Multi-faith voices for peace and justice.

"We met with San Jose police and both departments are going to have extra patrols. We don't anticipate any problems," said Lt. Dan Moreno with the Santa Clara Police Department.
