SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) --Expect to see a wash of pink around parts of the Bay Area this weekend as thousands come to town for the 12th annual Avon Walk for Breast Cancer.
Today is the check-in party and the two-day walk kicks off tomorrow morning. Thousands of people dressed in pink are expected to take part in the 39.3 mile walk from San Francisco to Marin County.
All funds from the walk will be donated to local breast cancer organizations and help fund the ongoing search for a cure. Tomorrow's festivities kick off at 6:30 a.m. at Fort Mason crosses the Golden Gate and winds up Highway 101 to Corte Madera.
