HAYWARD, Calif. -- BART police are asking for the public's help in identifying persons of interest in a shooting that occurred near the bus zone at the Hayward station in June.

BART released a video from a surveillance camera that shows four young black men walking down the stairs into the station at 699 B St. at about 8 p.m. on June 17, about 15 minutes before shots were fired near the bus zone. The video also shows a guitarist playing music at the bottom of the stairs.

No one was hurt in the shooting.

BART police Chief Kenton Rainey said in a statement, "We encourage anyone with information about this incident to report it, anonymously if they wish, to BART detectives."

Rainey said, "A community member's information, along with the evidence we've already gathered, could bring these individuals to justice."
