SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Big hats and outrageous costumes are the iconic signs of San Francisco's Beach Blanket Babylon. The show celebrated its 40th anniversary with a special public celebration at city hall on Friday.
Mayor Ed Lee even got into the spirit, decked out in a glimmering jacket. Other special guests included Willie Brown and George Schultz as a singing Superman.
Since it began in 1974, Beach Blanket Babylon has held more than 15,000 performances.
