BELMONT, Calif. (KGO) -- In Belmont, the city council approved the purchase of 30-wearable video cameras for its police force.
The devices are similar to the ones used by Oakland police.
The San Mateo Daily Journal reports the police say it will help officers improve trust and transparency in the community.
The project will cost about $31,000 and the city hopes to have the cameras in use by August.
