REDDING, Calif. (KGO) -- The California National Guard has been called to assist fire crews across Northern California that are fighting several lightning sparked fires.

One of those is the "Day Fire" that's been burning since Wednesday in Modoc County, northeast of Redding.

Flames have burned through more than 19-square-miles and are threatening 150 structures. The fire is 15-percent contained.

It is among more than 40 fires sparked by lightning. 24 are burning in Siskiyou County alone.

CAL FIRE says all of those fires are now contained.
