ANTIOCH, Calif. (KGO) -- A CHP chase on Highway 4 in Antioch ended with a suspect vehicle launching into the air and shearing off a power pole and a fire hydrant.

The chase started the car around 1:18 a.m.; the CHP says they were pursuing a possible suspect vehicle in another crime. Shortly after the chase started the car started going the wrong on Highway 4, so the pursuit was called off, police say. The car then exited the freeway at Contra Loma Boulevard.
