BRASELTON, GA -- An NFL player's ex-girlfriend is now in jail, accused of attacking him and breaking his new girlfriend's arm with a bat.

ABC affiliate WSB-TV reports Erika Palmer tried to hide out at a local hotel after breaking into Indianapolis Colts linebacker Erik Walden's home, not once, but three times. Police say Walden and his new girlfriend walked into his home to find Palmer sitting on his couch with his gun and a bat.

That's when she allegedly hit Walden's companion in the arm with the bat and ran away.

Authorities say Palmer appeared again as Walden was trying to take the injured woman to the hospital. Police say Palmer slashed Walden with a knife and ran again.

"We get there and of course she has gone again," said Assistant Police Chief Lou Solis with the Braselton Police Department.

Police tracked Palmer's cellphone to a nearby hotel. They arrested and booked her on 13 charges including aggravated assault, theft by taking and battery.

This isn't the first domestic violence incident between the former couple. Walden agreed to perform community service and counseling after a different incident in 2011 in Wisconsin.

Palmer and Walden have two children together.

Walden has also played with the Green Bay Packers, Miami Dolphins and Kansas City Chiefs over his seven-year NFL career.
