BETHEL ISLAND, Calif. (KGO) -- Some residents are concerned about a convicted child molester who will soon move into a home in a quiet Delta town.

Robert Bates, 51, is expected to be released Friday from a treatment facility. He'll be required to attend therapy and wear a GPS ankle bracelet.

Bates is expected to move into a home on Bethel Island just a few feet from homes where young children live.

A public hearing on the matter is scheduled to be held at a courthouse in Martinez on Friday morning.
