Crews repair water main break in Menlo Park
Crews worked to repair a water main break in Menlo Park overnight.

MENLO PARK, Calif. (KGO) -- A Menlo Park neighborhood was without water through the night after a water main break.

Crews worked to fix the broken pipe on Harkins Avenue. It was reported just after 9 p.m. Officials say a couple of homes were damaged when water flowed in.

Crews say the ground was so saturated from recent rain, the weight of the soil broke the pipe. The water was shut off to about 25 houses while crews dug up the street to fix the broken water main.

Nearby homes may see sediment stirred up by the water main break in their water.
