Crews extinguish South San Francisco commercial building fire

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO -- Crews put out a three-alarm commercial structure fire in South San Francisco Tuesday afternoon.

Firefighters responded to a fire alarm around 2 p.m. at 360 Swift Ave., where they found heavy smoke and fire inside of a one-story commercial building, according to South San Francisco Deputy Fire Chief Travis Nuckolls.

The employees got out of the building safely and no injuries were reported, Nuckolls said.

Fire crews were able to bring the blaze under control in roughly an hour, according to Nuckolls.

The cause and point of origin for the fire are still under investigation and a damage estimate was not immediately available.
