Police seek suspect after chase ends in crash in San Jose
Police are looking for a suspect after a stolen car chase ended in a crash in San Jose.

SAN JOSE (KGO) -- Deputies in San Jose said they searched for a stolen car suspect after a high-speed chase ended in a crash on I-680 and McKee Road.

The pursuit began around 3:20 Monday morning after police say they started to pursue a suspect in a stolen two door Honda Civic. Authorities said the car was stolen out of Milpitas. The pursuit went through Tully, King and Capitol Expressway at speed in excess of 80 mph. Deputies used spike strips that shredded a tire of the stolen vehicle. Police say the driver entered I-680 going northbound in the southbound lanes. The car crashed on I-680 near the McKee exit, where the suspect bailed on foot, police said.

A female passenger remained in the car and is being questioned by deputies. Dogs searched thick brush surrounding the highway, but they did not find the man. The suspect is described as a light skinned Hispanic man in his 30s or 40s, 180 pounds, about 5'9", wearing blue jeans, black shirt, red and white shoes and black glasses.
