DISCOVERY BAY, Calif. (KGO) -- An East Bay man is being held on $14 million bail after police say he molested three underage girls.

Gary Burbank, 36, of Discovery Bay was arrested Thursday and is being held at the Martinez Jail.

Contra Costa Sheriff's detectives say Burbank targeted teens on social media. Deputies arrested him in his Discovery Bay home Thursday night.

"Wow, it's amazing how things can happen right underneath your nose and you don't even know about it, you know," said neighbor Blaine Brooks.

Neighbors say he kept to himself. Deputies say they found evidence at his home of sexual contact with at least three girls ages 14 to 16.

"We know at least one of the vics he met online, over the internet," said Captain Thomas Chalk of the Contra Costa County Sheriffs.

"It's shocking yeah, it's really shocking," Brooks added. "It's just such a coward and horrible thing to do."

A victim came forward Tuesday. The investigations are preliminary.

"We got the information very quickly. We acted upon it," Chalk told ABC7 News. "Detectives are actively working on the case as we speak."
