Man stabs neighbors in dispute over dog feces

SPRINGFIELD, MA -- A man is facing serious charges this morning due to a dispute over dog poop, ABC affiliate WTNH reports.

Police were first called to the multi-family home when Michael Valentin, 33, accused his neighbors of letting their two dogs defecate on the stairs and in the yard. Valentin claimed those neighbors never picked up the mess.

Police thought they had resolved the situation and left the scene, but then they say Valentine became violent and stabbed his neighbors in the face and neck.

The 46-year-old mother and her 23-year-old daughter were both taken to the hospital in critical condition. They are both expected to survive.

Valentin faces two counts of armed assault with intent to murder, and mayhem. He is due in court today.
