SAN CLEMENTE, Calif. -- Orange County sheriff's deputies found Thursday the person who anonymously left porcelain dolls on the doorsteps of at least eight homes in San Clemente that resembled the daughters of the families who live in the home.
The intent of leaving the dolls was "goodwill," sheriff's deputies reported via Twitter. A woman who apparently knew the families from church was trying to give the girls dolls she thought resembled them.
The dolls were left in the Talega community in San Clemente over the past week with no note. Sheriff's investigators collected the dolls as evidence and were working with the families to find a connection between the homes.
No further details were released about the person in question.
