SAN YSIDRO, Calif. (KGO) -- An investigation is underway after a drone carrying methamphetamine crashed into a supermarket parking lot.

Police say six packets, weighing more than six pounds, were taped to the remote-controlled aircraft.

It happened near the San Ysidro crossing at Mexico's border with California.

Police say it was not the first time they've seen drones used for smuggling drugs.
