The East Bay Municipal Utility District is flushing out water waste Monday to kick off the start of "Fix a Leak Week."

EBMUD is partnering with 41 hardware stores to find and fix leaky toilets, which is the most common source of indoor water waste.

The stores are providing free dye tabs. You put one in the tank and if it leaks into the toilet bowl, it means you can see you have a leak.

The stores are holding leak detection workshops so you can fix the problem yourself.

This comes just as California is in the middle of a crippling drought.
