FAIRFIELD, Calif. -- A Fairfield man who was involved in a fatal crash in Solano County this morning was arrested on suspicion of gross vehicle manslaughter while intoxicated, the California Highway Patrol said.

Shawn Khabra, 24, was driving a 2013 Nissan Altima north on Mankas Corner Road north of Abernathy Road near Fairfield around 1:40 a.m., CHP Officer Chris Parker said.

The Nissan drifted off the right side of the road into a small ditch and overturned several times, Parker said.

A 24-year-old Fairfield man, who was not wearing a seatbelt, died when he was ejected from the rear window, and another 24-year-old Fairfield man, who was wearing a seatbelt, suffered minor injuries, Parker said.

Khabra suffered moderate injuries and was booked in the Solano County Jail for DUI causing injury and gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, Parker said.

The deceased man's identity is pending notification of next of kin, the Solano County coroner's office said.
