Father of Oakland girl shot by stray bullet arrested

OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) -- Oakland police have arrested the father of a young girl who was shot in East Oakland on Tuesday.

Police responded to 81st Avenue and Rudsdale Street on reports of a shooting. On arrival officers found shell casings throughout the intersection and a car riddled with bullets parked on the curb.

Police say her father Julius Miller, 23, and several other men were shooting paintballs at people along International Boulevard when someone fired back with real bullets.

Tyanni Miller, 4, is recovering from a serious chest wound at Children's Hospital Oakland.

Miller was arrested after he went to the hospital to check on his daughter.

Police are still searching for the person accused of shooting Tyanni.
