Hayward police investigate shooting of young male

HAYWARD, Calif. -- A boy is in critical condition today after being shot in the head in Hayward on Sunday night, police said.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting at Del Norte Court and Oliver Drive, just west of Hesperian Boulevard, shortly before 9 p.m. Sunday and found the boy suffering from a gunshot wound to his head, police said.

The juvenile, whose name and age are not immediately being released, was unresponsive and was taken to a hospital, where he remains in critical condition, according to police.

No arrests have been made in the shooting, police said.
