SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- A jury has acquitted a man accused of setting a Mercedes-Benz on fire inside an apartment building's garage in San Francisco.

Public defender Jeff Adachi believes police relied on unreliable information when they arrested Anthony Bejarano after the fire in June.

Bejarano had visited the Rincon Hill building on the same day to serve legal papers, but his defense argued there was no evidence that he was ever near the torched car.

Bejarano had a clean criminal record before being accused.
