BURLINGAME, Calif. -- Caltrain is now single-tracking through the Broadway station where a man was struck and killed by a southbound train in Burlingame Monday night, Caltrain officials said.

Southbound Caltrain No. 192 hit the man on the tracks south of the station around 9 p.m., Caltrain spokeswoman Christine Dunn said.

About 400 passengers and crews members on the train were not injured, she said.

The train was moved to the Burlingame station where passengers were able to board off and get on another southbound train from the northbound platform to their destinations, Dunn said.

Northbound trains were allowed to pass through the station, according to Dunn.

Southbound Caltrain No. 196 was scheduled to arrive in San Francisco at 10:40 p.m. but will be arriving late due to the delay, she said.

Southbound Caltrain No. 198 is scheduled to leave San Francisco on time at 12:01 a.m., according to Dunn.

SamTrans buses had transported passengers between the San Mateo and Millbrae stations while Caltrain tickets were honored at the Millbrae BART station, Dunn said.

The incident marks the sixth fatality on Caltrain tracks so far this year, Dunn said.
