Man killed in crash on Highway 101 in Santa Rosa

SANTA ROSA, Calif. (KGO) -- The CHP is investigating a fatal car crash in Santa Rosa. It happened on southbound Highway 101 just south of Todd Road around 12:30 a.m. Investigators said the driver is a man in his 30s from Healdsburg and he may have been drinking.

A witness tells the CHP the driver unexpectedly veered off the roadway and plowed into a guardrail before hitting a tree. He died at the scene. The CHP has since cleared the scene.
