Missing 5-year-old boy in Mendocino County has been found

MENDOCINO COUNTY, Calif. (KGO) -- A missing 5-year-old boy from Willits has been found safe by the Mendocino County Sheriff's Department.

Brett Bowman went missing yesterday afternoon when he took off after his dog, Tank, in a wooded area. Bret and Tank were found about two miles from his house in a rural area Wednesday morning. Bret didn't sleep at all overnight and said Tank helped protect him.

The Marin County search and rescue team assisted crews in Mendocino County with the overnight search.
