Oakland mother who lost 2 sons raises money for bus

A mother who lost two children to gun violence is hoping to help other children in the city of Oakland.

Dinyal New's 13-year-old son, Lee Weathersby, was killed on his way home from the Boys and Girls Club on New Year's Eve.

Just three weeks later, her 19-year-old, Lamar Broussard, was killed less than a mile away. Now, New says she is trying to raise money to honor her youngest son by helping other children.

"The Lee Memorial Bus. To purchase this bus, have it laminated with lees picture and use it to pick Oakland inner city kids up take them to church and on different outings," said New.

A GoFundMe website has been set up for the Lee Memorial Bus.

They hope to unveil the bus by June 10. The day Lee would have graduated.
