One dead, another injured in two separate Oakland shootings

OAKLAND, Calif. -- One person was killed and another was wounded during two separate shootings in Oakland Saturday night, according to police.

Around 11:50 p.m., a shooting occurred in West Oakland in the 1500 block of 34th Street, police said.

A female victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity has not been released.

Earlier that night, another shooting occurred near the Oakland Coliseum.

Officers responded around 9 p.m. to the 500 block of Independent Road, according to police.

One male victim was suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital and is in stable condition, police said.

No arrest was made in either shootings and descriptions of the suspects were not immediately available.
