Pedestrian hit by train, critically injured in Antioch

ANTIOCH, Calif. -- A person was hit by a train and critically injured in Antioch this morning, a fire spokesman said.

The train hit a pedestrian at about 7:35 a.m. near Fulton Shipyard Road, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District Capt. Robert Marshall said.

An air ambulance was called and medical crews are working on getting the critically injured victim ready for transport to the hospital, Marshall said.
