Powerful images show the aftermath of a crash involving a Maryland Transit Administration bus and a school bus that killed at least six people in Baltimore on Tuesday.

The department's Chief of Media Relations, T.J. Smith, said that the school bus struck a Mustang, then hit a pillar by a cemetery, then continued into oncoming traffic when it hit the MTA bus. There were only two adults on the school bus, no children.

"It literally looks like a bomb exploded in the bus, and it's catastrophic damage," Smith said, adding that "we can't speculate on the cause at this point."
