SWANSBORO, N.C. (KGO) -- A suspected thief is under arrest after police caught him dragging a pharmacy store safe behind his car.

Police in Swansboro, North Carolina saw 22-year-old Ryan Mullins drive by with the safe being towed by a rope. The safe was used by the store to store medications.

Police say Mullins has a criminal history involving drug-related offenses and think he was trying to get the controlled substances stored in the safe.

Mullins now faces felony charges including breaking and entering, possession of stolen goods, trafficking of opium or heroin and DUI.
