Police investigate report of sexual assault in public restroom

SAN LEANDRO, Calif. -- Police are investigating a reported sexual assault Saturday in San Leandro.

Police responded around 5 p.m. to an apartment complex in 2900 block of Waterfall Way after receiving a call of a sexual assault.

Police said the teenage victim told investigators she was sexually assaulted in a public restroom at the apartment complex.

The suspect fled the scene before police arrived. Police searched the area but did not locate the suspect.

The suspect was described as a black man, approximately 20 years old and with short dark hair.
