Police release names of 2 people fatally shot in East Oakland

EAST OAKLAND, Calif. -- On Monday, police released the names of two young people who were fatally shot in East Oakland in separate incidents less than 90 minutes apart on Saturday night.

Police said 15-year-old Samantha Alvarado was fatally shot in a car near the intersection of 82nd Avenue and A Street shortly before 10:30 p.m. Saturday.

Two young men who were with Samantha were wounded in the shooting but are expected to survive, police said.

Then at about 11:50 p.m., authorities said 20-year-old Maceo Bell was fatally shot in front of his home near the intersection of 48th Avenue and Foothill Boulevard.

Oakland police said no arrests have been made in connection with either shooting.
