OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) -- Thursday evening, firefighters in Oakland had to move fast to contain a fire at a home near 36th and Brighton Avenue.

One of our ABC7 News crews was nearby and heard an explosion just after 8 p.m.

Firefighters say a propane tank exploded, blowing a window off the house and over a fence.

Crews put themselves between the fire and some apartments next door and kept the damage contained to one building.

Nobody was hurt.
