SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- San Francisco police are searching for a missing, at-risk 2-year-old girl whose mother was the victim of a homicide.

Police say they were notified on April 5 that Nicole Fitts and her daughter Arianna were missing. Nicole Fitts was last seen April 1 and was found Friday and police say she is the victim of a homicide.

San Francisco police say they can't release any further details surrounding the death of the mother due to the ongoing investigation.

Arianna was last seen in late February and police believe she is at risk because of her age and because she could be the victim of foul play.

Nicole and Arianna Fitts are known to frequent several Bay Area cities, including San Francisco, San Mateo, Oakland, Emeryville, Santa Cruz, and Silicon Valley areas, as well as several locations in Southern California and in Fresno.

Police are asking for the public's help in searching for the missing toddler.
