San Jose firefighters help rescue man in crash
Firefighters in San Jose rescued a man who crashed his vehicle near a station.

SAN JOSE (KGO) -- San Jose firefighters scrambled to cut a man out of a car who crashed near a station. The man crashed right across the street from Fire Station 9 on the corner of Hillsdale Avenue and Ross Avenue.

The crash occurred around 1:15 a.m. The firefighters at Station 9 heard the crash. They had just returned from another call. They were able to arrive quickly and get to work.

The vehicle had rolled over several times. They had to cut the metal to get the man out. It took them about 20 minutes to extricate him. He had some serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to Valley Medical Center. No word on what caused the man to crash his vehicle.
