San Jose police standoff ends peacefully with barricaded man

SAN JOSE (KGO) -- A San Jose police standoff has ended peacefully with a man at an apartment building on the 2700 block of McKee Road.

Police with assault rifles and non-lethal bean bag rounds had surrounded the apartment.

The man's family said he came to the apartment last night to spend time with his cousin. A family member said he was intoxicated and family members asked him to leave. When he refused, police were contacted. Authorities determined that the man had a warrant out for his arrest.

At approximately 11:24 a.m., the suspect exited the apartment and surrendered to officers without incident. No injuries were reported. The suspect was arrested and booked into the County Jail for an outstanding felony warrant and felony warrant for violation of parole.
